Jeannette Carey Harris
Jeannette Carey Harris, 65, died at home February 26, 2013 following a long journey with cancer. She was born in Key West, FL to George and Ruth Carey, now deceased.
A 43-year Colorado Springs resident, Jeannette was involved with the Chamber of Commerce, PTA, Hospice, church youth group, neighborhood watch, and lobbied the state legislature for Women’s Resource Agency and the ERA. In 10 years as a Memorial Hospital Trauma Liaison, she helped hundreds of patients and their families though some of life’s darkest hours. Jeannette received state recognition for educating families regarding organ donation and was a charter member for debriefing Colorado First Responders. She also co-created "LJ Promotional Products", a successful and respected business in the region.
Jeannette lives in the memory of her husband of 45 years, George Harris; their 4 children Laurel Harris, Philip Harris (Lori Kingsbury), Emily Harris (Daniel Mog), and Ryan Harris; 2 grandchildren Caiden, Greyson. She provided a home and safe haven to many other young people.

A service is planned for Thursday, March 7, 3:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, Colorado Springs, 420 N. Nevada Ave.
